Is It Time?
Moisture or fog trapped between the panes means the seal has failed and the window has lost its insulating value. It can't be cleaned away — it's a clear sign it's time.
Cold air near closed windows and heating and cooling bills that keep climbing usually point to worn-out windows letting your energy — and money — escape.
Windows that fight you every time you open them, or won't budge at all, have usually reached the end of their working life — common in older northside homes.
Peeling paint, soft wood, or staining around the frame means water is getting in where you can't see it. Left alone it leads to rot and mold, so it's worth addressing soon.

What It Costs
The biggest driver of any window replacement cost — more openings and larger windows mean more material and labor.
Vinyl, fiberglass, or wood, and the style of each window — from a simple double-hung to a bay or bow.
Low-E coatings, argon fill, and double or triple pane all improve efficiency and affect the price.
Insert versus full-frame replacement, plus the condition of your existing openings, changes the scope of the work.
Trim, drywall, and paint. We include it in every quote — most window companies don't, so compare carefully.
Every home is different, so the honest answer to "what does window replacement cost?" is that it depends. That's why we come out and give you a clear, all-in quote — finish work included — completely free.
Installation
Your new windows fit into the existing frames after the old sashes are removed. It's less invasive, keeps your existing trim, and costs less — a great option when your current frames are still solid.
The window comes out all the way to the studs. It's the right call when frames are rotted or damaged, or when you're changing a window's size or style — and it lets us catch and fix hidden water damage before the new window goes in.
Not sure which you need? We'll tell you honestly after we see your home. As your contractor, we manage the whole project: any required permits, the installation by Pella Certified Contractors, care with older northside homes (including safe practices if lead paint is present), and the interior finish work — trim, drywall, and paint — followed by a complete cleanup. The window installation itself usually wraps in a day or two.
